Chisinau, June 16 / MOLDPRES /- On the sidelines of the visit to Chisinau of President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron, the signing ceremony of three bilateral documents took place yesterday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, the MAEIE press service has reported.

The agreement between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the Government of the French Republic for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of tax evasion and fraud will allow the development of priority sectors of the economy affected by the regional security situation by implementing new investment projects, thus creating new jobs in our country.

The agreement between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the Government of the French Republic on the activities of the French Development Agency (AFD), Proparco and Expertise France in Moldova implies access by our country of funds to finance national development needs.

Thus, according to its mandate, the French Development Agency will support development projects in three key areas: reforestation and irrigation, modernization of water supply and sewerage systems, electrical interconnections and energy efficiency in buildings. An important project for the perspective of connecting the Moldovan railway network to the European network is related to the rehabilitation and modernization of the Chisinau-Ungheni railway section.

The credit agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the French Development Agency is the document through which our country will benefit from the financial resources necessary to finance the needs of the state budget, including for health services, education or social transfers.

The documents were signed by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Nicu Popescu, Minister of Finance Dumitru Budianschi, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Catherine Colonna and Cyrille Bellier, Director of the Department of Eastern Europe, Orient and Asia, French Development Agency.

Thus, the Parties reaffirm their commitment to further strengthen bilateral dialogue and expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest, in the interests of the citizens of both countries.

"We have a dynamic bilateral agenda, which we want to make full use of, and economic diplomacy remains a central priority of this privileged Moldovan-French cooperation," he said.
