VIDEO // President of Action and Solidarity Party says list of new Moldova's cabinet of ministers to be announced shortly
The list of ministers who will be part of the new cabinet will be made public today. The president of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS), Igor Grosu, has made statements to this effect, after the PAS faction’s meeting with the designated Prime Minister, Vasile Tofan.
According to the speaker, the participants in the meeting examined the draft government’s activity programme, the main priorities of the future cabine and the composition of the governmental team.
“We have concluded the faction’s meeting with the designated Prime Minister, Vasile Tofan. We had a very good discussion on the Government’s Programme, on the draft Programme, on sectors, approaches, questions and answers. We also discussed the candidates and the list of ministers, and in a very short time, the composition of the new Government will be presented to the public,” Igor Grosu said.
The parliament speaker said that the designated cabinet of ministers would appear before the Legislature to ask for a vote of confidence.
“Moldova needs a present government that takes the necessary decisions, delivers results and explains to people, with sincerity and responsibility, why the reforms we are undertaking are important. On July 21, Vasile Tofan and his team will come to parliament to unveil the governing programme and to request the vote of confidence,” Grosu said.
Vasile Tofan was designated by President Maia Sandu as candidate for the position of prime minister on July 11. According to the constitutional procedure, he must present to Parliament the government’s activity programme and the composition of the cabinet, after which MPs will decide by vote on the investiture of the new government.
