President on France’s National Day: We are proud to have this country among our closest friends
President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu today sent a congratulatory message on France’s National Day, expressing gratitude for the constant support offered by Paris and highlighting the close relationship between the two states.
In a post published on X, the head of state extended her best wishes to the French people and emphasized the strong partnership between the Republic of Moldova and France.
“Happy National Day to our French friends! We are proud to have France among our closest friends,” Maia Sandu said.
The President also noted the participation of Moldovan soldiers in the military parade held on the Champs-Élysées, calling this moment a source of pride for the Republic of Moldova.
“And what a pride it is to see our officers carrying the Moldovan flag at the July 14 parade on the Champs-Élysées!” the head of state affirmed.
For the second year in a row, a contingent of the National Army took part in the military parade organized in Paris on the occasion of France’s National Day. The color guard group of the Honor Guard Company marched alongside French soldiers and representatives of other partner states, in the presence of French authorities and official guests.
The French Republic is celebrating National Day today. France is the second-largest economic power in Europe and the fifth in the world, being the country that upholds the republican motto “Liberty, Equality, Fraternity.” Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Moldova and the French Republic were established on March 11, 1992.
Over 34 years of cooperation, the two states have signed 17 bilateral documents in various fields. In the process of advancing our country’s European agenda, France provides political support as a co-initiator of the Group for European Action “Friends of Moldova.”
