Audiovisual Council does not extend broadcasting licence for two TV stations of Moldova
Chisinau, 16 October /MOLDPRES/ - The Audiovisual Council (CA) has ruled not to extend the broadcasting licence of the TV stations Familia (The Family) and Primul în Moldova (First in Moldova), as a result of more infringements.
According to CA, during 2022-2023, REAL RADIO SRL (LTD), the founder of the Familia TV station, was sanctioned with ten fines worth more than 150,000 lei for the infringement of the provisions concerning the making of local programmes and non-observance of the general concept of the media service.
In this respect, CA president Liliana Vitu reminded the sanctions of the Familia TV station for the lack of local programmes, with the provider having possibility to prove that it has production capacities.’’The TV station is set to purchase programmes and not to produce them by itself or the argument of a TV station is namely to have its own better programmes than other stations,’’ Vitu said.
At the same time, in the context of analyzing the application on the prolongation of the broadcasting licence, submitted by TELESISTEM TV SRL Commercial Society, the founder of the First in Moldova media service, most CA members ruled not to accept it, the reason being the non-observance of its own general concept.
According to the monitoring control carried out by CA in last September, the principal informative programmes and programmes and of the First in Moldova TV station are presently found in the grid of ITV.
