Drone found in Florești had onboard camera, features specific to Gerbera type
The drone found today in Florești district had an onboard camera and, according to the experts’ preliminary findings, displays features specific to Gerbera type, used by the Russian Federation.
According to the police, this is the first time that an aircraft of this type has been detected on the territory of the Republic of Moldova.
The findings were made by experts from the Technical and Explosives Investigation Division. They preliminarily determined that the drone collided with a tree, subsequently fell to the ground, and exploded.
Police officers are continuing their examination to establish the exact model of the aircraft, its manufacturer and technical characteristics, as well as to clarify all the circumstances of the incident.
The drone’s exact identification will be confirmed following specialized expert examinations.
