Foreign Ministry deems violation of airspace by Russian drones inadmissible

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs deems the repeated violation of the airspace of the Republic of Moldova by Russian drones, launched as part of the Russian Federation’s massive attacks on Ukraine, inadmissible. This morning, several drones entered the national airspace, and two of them exploded on the country’s territory.

According to the MFA, “these incidents represent a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of the Republic of Moldova and directly endanger the lives of its citizens.”

Responsibility for these incidents lies with the Russian Federation, which, through its attacks on Ukraine, is extending the effects of the war beyond that country’s borders.

The MFA calls on the Russian Federation to immediately cease its attacks on Ukraine and any action that threatens the security of the Republic of Moldova and its citizens.
