Emotional moment in Parliament: six children opened plenary session with special sign language performance

Six children who participate in the activities of the Republican House of Culture of the Deaf in Moldova opened today’s plenary session of Parliament with a special sign language performance. The initiative took place in the context of International Day of Sign Languages, observed on September 23.

The children were invited to Parliament and prepared an artistic performance for the beginning of the plenary session. They were accompanied by Ala Bargan, director of the Republican House of Culture of the Deaf in Moldova.

MP Ludmila Adamciuc noted that the International Day of Sign Languages is an opportunity to draw attention to the right of people with hearing impairments to communication, information, and full participation in society.

“It is an opportunity to talk about the right of people with hearing impairments to communication, information, and full participation in society,” said Ludmila Adamciuc.

At the end, the MP thanked the children for their participation and urged lawmakers to welcome them warmly and applaud them in sign language.
