Emergency Medicine Institute of Moldova to have new operation unit
The Emergency Medicine Institute will have a modern operation unit with 15 operation rooms.
Attending the event on the unit’s inauguration were Health Minister Ala Nemerenco, Ambassador of Japan to Moldova Yamada Yoichiro, the administration and the medical staff of the Emergency Medicine Institute, the administration of the Nicolae Testemitanu State Medicine of Medicine and Pharmacy and directors of hospitals.
The operation unit is endowed with specialized surgery tables, with multiple possibilities of patients’ positional adaptation. The operation rooms and pre-operation rooms are endowed with advanced anesthesia machines, cardio-pulmonary monitors, anesthesia pendants, inoxidable steel wardrobes for tools and consumables, tables for surgical instruments, wheelchairs for apparatus and anesthesia devices.
The building is equipped with three special ventilation systems, which allow supplying the operation rooms with laminar, sterile air flow, through Hepa filters and the wards from the anesthesia and intensive therapy section – with fresh air.
Also, those 15 surgery rooms have two autonomous sources of supply with electric energy and their own networks of supply with medical gas, providing conditions of maximal security for the patients.
In the surgery rooms, the surgeons and anesthesiologists have modern anesthesia apparatus, RXTV with memory for interventions under radiological control, kits with instruments for laparoscopic surgical interventions in the sphere of general surgery, traumatology, orthopedics and neurosurgery, surgical microscopes for ophthalmological, neurological or plastic surgery interventions. At the same time, there are 12 beds for the waking up of patients in the surgery unit.
The reconstruction and endowment of the operation unit at the Emergency Medicine Institute cost over 177 million lei – money paid from the state budget and with the support of the Japan International Cooperation Agency.
