Eternal Fire at Eternity Memorial Complex from Chisinau disconnected
Chisinau, 22 October /MOLDPRES/ - The eternal fire from the Eternity Memorial Complex has been temporarily disconnected. The Defence Ministry took a decision to this effect, in the context of the crisis in the energy sector.
According to the ministry, the flame was taken over by servicemen of the Company Guard of Honour of the General Staff Regiment Nicolae Petrica Brigade General and carried to the Military Glory Museum from the Stefan cel Mare motorized infantry brigade.
„The measure was taken in the context of the decrease of the pressure in the supply tubes and for reasons of the climate factors, such as the strong wind, which triggers the self-extinguishing of the eternal fire. The leakages of natural gas, in such cases, endanger the public security,’’ reads a press release issued by the institution.
