IGP received batch of modern equipment from Germany

The General Inspectorate of Police (IGP) received a batch of modern equipment acquired with the support of the German Government. Along with the delivery of the goods, the police officers also benefited from specialized training, aligned with international standards, to ensure the efficient use of the received equipment.

The official handover ceremony took place at the IGP headquarters, in the presence of the institution's leadership and Chief Operating Officer of the Global Security Sector Reform Foundation (GS Foundation) Stefan Schwarz.

The donation includes drones, investigation equipment, and ultra-modern forensic technology capable of analyzing the chemical compositions of traces found at the crime scene, such as paint, glass, metals, soil, or textile fibers without compromising the evidence.

Representatives of the GS Foundation emphasized that “Germany will continue to support the modernization of the National Police, and this batch of equipment represents a new step towards strengthening the institution's operational capacities and increasing the level of safety for citizens.”

National Police head Viorel Cernăuțeanu expressed gratitude to external partners for their constant contribution to the development and modernization of the police system in the Republic of Moldova.

The donation was made within the project - Strengthening the National Police in Crisis Prevention and Crime Combating, implemented by the GS Foundation and funded by the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany.
