Moldovan head of state congratulates everybody for whom Chisinau means home
Chisinau, 14 October /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today conveyed a congratulatory message on the occasion of the Dedication Day of the Chisinau city.
„Chisinau is the home of many of us, the city of promises for many young people from other districts, as well as the face with which we meet guests. It is the place where the traditional cuisine meets with the most modern restaurants. Where we find both traffic jams with hasty people and the calm of alleys in the morning, young people who spend their time nicely and concerts which re-bring to stage the folklore and old songs, children who prattle in wheelchairs and old people who enjoy a dance in park, blocks of flats constructed illegally and old historical buildings, nice chestnut-trees with strong roots and young trees who just grow. All colours, all memories, as well as all dreams,’’ Maia Sandu said.
According to the Moldovan president, ’’in its complexity and with all its contrasts, all of us love Chisinau and want it to become a European capital.’’ ‘’I thank everybody who take care for our city to be cleaner, nicer, friendlier. Congratulations to everybody for whom Chisinau means home,’’ Maia Sandu noted.
Chisinau today marks its Dedication Day – a day when the Orthodox Christians celebrate the Holy Protection of the Mother of God. The Chisinau this year turned 588 years since its first documentary mention.
