MOLDPRES, AGERPRES news agencies sign Cooperation Agreement
The State News Agency (AIS) MOLDPRES has signed a collaboration agreement with the agency AGERPRES of Romania. The document outlines the mutual exchange and dissemination of news, articles, pictures and current information of public interest. Also, through this agreement, the institutions aim to collaborate efficiently, develop joint projects and improve the accessibility of information.
The cooperation agreement aims to strengthen bilateral relations in the field of mass media, facilitating the exchange of news and information. Another goal is promoting topics of common interest, such as European integration, regional development, culture and education. Also, under this agreement, MOLDPRES and AGERPRES commit to contributing to combating propaganda in a common European space.
The document was signed by the director of AIS MOLDPRES, Vitalie Hadei, and the director of AGERPRES, Claudia Victoria Nicolae.
After signing the agreement, MOLDPRES director Vitalie Hadei referred to the importance of leveraging the common informational space through the two official media institutions.
"A common information space between Moldova and Romania is essential, in order to finally break the barbed wire that has unjustly separated the Romanian language, culture and shared history on both sides of the Prut for decades. Therefore, this cooperation agreement between MOLDPRES and AGERPRES, the official news agencies of Chisinau and Bucharest, is a natural one, meant to strengthen the exchange of information between the two states through credible channels," Vitalie Hadei said.
The MOLDPRES leadership noted that, within this partnership, both media institutions would host each other's news widgets on their websites, representing a swap of journalistic materials highly valued by readers over time."The team at AIS MOLDPRES is convinced that, by combining our resources and expertise, we will succeed in exchanging best practices and offering the audience on both sides of the Prut a more comprehensive understanding of events in Moldova, Romania and the entire world. This agreement is also proof of the strong ties between our institutions and we look forward to working together to build a strong informational bridge between Chisinau and Bucharest," specified Vitalie Hadei.
For her part, the director of the AGERPRES agency, Claudia Victoria Nicolae, said that the signing of the cooperation agreement reaffirmed a long-standing partnership between the two national news agencies, which act as a true informational bridge between Romania and Moldova.
"Strengthening this collaboration in a special regional and international context underscores the importance of exchanging correct and balanced information, supporting transparent communication and public interest in both countries," Claudia Victoria Nicolae noted.
Thus, through this agreement, the news agencies aim to collaborate efficiently, develop joint projects and improve information accessibility, so that citizens in Moldova and Romania can benefit from balanced media coverage reflecting the realities in both states.Another priority is supporting the professional development of journalists from both institutions. According to the document, the news agencies will implement a professional internship program for journalists from the two countries.
The cooperation between the two media institutions spans over 30 years. Thus, after the founding of MOLDPRES, the first cooperation agreement was signed with AGERPRES on May 20, 1992, at that time between Moldova-pres and Rompres.
