Nearly 230,000 people to get state Easter aid worth 470 million lei
About 230,000 people will receive state Easter aid. Families with children up to five years, including those from the diaspora, will receive 1,500 lei, while persons with disabilities will receive 5,000 lei. The money will be available on bank cards or post offices starting 2 May. Speaker Igor Grosu and Minister of Labor and Social Protection Alexei Buzu made the statement today at a joint conference.
The official noted that the Budget +PLUS, recently voted, represents the largest financial package ever allocated by the Government for investments and economic growth.
“We are talking about 8 billion lei, and the budget for this family aid reaches 470 million lei. This aid came from the European Union and will be provided to all children up to the age of five, who will receive 1,500 lei each, including those from the diaspora. We also provide support for families caring for a child or adult with disabilities - 5,000 lei will be offered,” Grosu said.
Who will benefit from Easter aid
Minister of Labor and Social Protection Alexei Buzu mentioned that about 200,000 families will benefit from the Easter aid of 1,500 lei. 11,500 families with children with disabilities and 20,000 families caring for adults with disabilities will receive 5,000 lei each.
“The payments will be offered by the government. The government and CNAS have already identified the beneficiary families. The money will be available from 2 May on compensation or allowance cards. Families without a social card will receive it on any active card or at the post office,” the minister said.
How families from diaspora can collect money
Alexei Buzu said that authorities will identify active cards held in Moldova by families from the diaspora, and if none are found, the payment will be available at the post office until the end of the year or can be collected by proxy.
“Aid beneficiaries will receive an SMS from the bank, and CNAS will also provide details on the hotline,” the minister said.
Budget Plus is the largest financial package ever allocated by the Government of the Republic of Moldova. It includes financial resources worth 8 billion lei and is built on two dimensions: energy package and economic development package.
