Six hectares of willow were planted on Sunday, November 16, on the banks of the Prut River at Câșlița-Prut, Cahul district. The action is part of the national afforestation campaign Autumn 2025.
The event was carried out with the support of NOW company, which actively participated in the saplings planting action.
'What do we do after planting a forest in Mihailovca? We continue in the south of the country. Together with NOW company, we plant a six-hectare forest on the banks of the Prut River. We thank all the companies that chose to get involved and be part of the Forest Generation. Only in this way can we fulfill the goal of planting 145,000 hectares of forest by 2032,' said Minister of Environment Gheorghe Hajder.
The national afforestation campaign Autumn 2025 was launched yesterday in the village of Mihailovca, Cimișlia district. Government and ministry employees, ambassadors, villagers, and other volunteers planted 110,000 saplings on a total area of 27 hectares. Planting actions were organized in each district so that every citizen can plant a forest as close as possible to their home or native district.
The afforestation campaign 'Autumn 2025' is part of the national afforestation program, Forest Generation, launched at the initiative of President Maia Sandu, through which 145,000 hectares of forest will be planted by 2032. In the first two years since the launch of the program, over 16,000 hectares have been afforested, and by the end of this year, it will reach 20,000 hectares.
