This past weekend brought distinguished guests to the Republic of Moldova. President of Romania Nicușor Dan visited our country with his family and spent a few days with his host, President Maia Sandu, attending several events in Orheiul Vechi, Sipoteni, Mașcăuți, and Ciuciuleni.
The Romanian official was welcomed by hospitable communities, proud of their traditions, customs, and local products. The festive atmosphere, traditional costumes, songs, and dances reflected the cultural richness of Moldovan villages.
“I spent a pleasant and energetic weekend with the President of Romania, Nicușor Dan, who visited our country with his family. We attended together several events in Orheiul Vechi, Sipoteni, Mașcăuți, and Ciuciuleni – places with welcoming people, proud of their traditions, of all they have inherited and created. The festive atmosphere and the unity of the people show us how beautiful Moldova is when we take time to discover it. I urge you to enjoy the summer, our villages, to go to festivals, and to support local traditions and producers”, expressed Maia Sandu.
While in Ciuciuleni, Nicușor Dan mentioned that it is important for Romania and the Republic of Moldova to be together.
In Mașcăuți, Criuleni district, which on Sunday marked 589 years, the Romanian head of state expressed his joy that residents still celebrate such anniversaries.
Maia Sandu said she wants to make a commitment with Nicușor Dan to work together so that the localities in the Republic of Moldova and those in Romania become European and people live well. “Let's speed up the construction of bridges and highways so we can communicate faster. Let's work together, but also rejoice and celebrate together”, added the head of state.
