State social insurance budget revenues and expenditures to increase by over 900 million lei
Government has approved today the amendment of the state social insurance budget. The project provides for an increase in the total revenues and expenditures of the state social insurance budget by 903.3 million lei, up to the amount of 49.39 billion lei. The additional resources will be directed towards social programs, such as pensions and allowances for the elderly, family and child protection, and protection of persons with disabilities.
Minister of Labor and Social Protection Natalia Plugaru stated at the cabinet meeting that the proposed adjustment follows an analysis of the budget execution for the first nine months of the current year and aims to adjust the revenues and expenditures of the state social insurance budget according to the real developments in the economy, as well as the needs of the social insurance system beneficiaries.
"With this adjustment, the total revenues and expenditures of the state social insurance budget increase by 903.3 million lei, reaching 49.39 billion lei. These additional resources will be directed towards social programs, such as pensions and allowances for the elderly, family and child protection, and protection of persons with disabilities," said Natalia Plugaru.
Additionally, the minister underlined that some expenses have been optimized due to active measures by the National Employment Agency and also the reform of the State Labour Inspectorate, which allowed for an increase in the number of employed persons and a reduction in unemployment aid expenses.
