VIDEO // Moldovan PM urges citizens to join reforestation campaign
Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu today made a public call, urging all citizens to participate in the reforestation campaign.
The PM said that the reforestation campaign would kick off on November 15, and government members would participate in the planting activities. He encouraged citizens to do the same, as ‘’we are the forest generation.’’
‘’On next Saturday, the government will participate in the planting. Find the nearest location and join the reforestation effort, as we are the forest generation,’’ noted Alexandru Munteanu.
In the next weekend, the government of Moldova will officially launch the autumn reforestation campaign by planting 27 hectares of forest in Mihailovca, southern Cimislia district. At the same time, on November 15, planting locations will be open in all districts across the country, where citizens, public institutions and organizations can voluntarily join.
The #ForestGeneration Programme, initiated by President Maia Sandu, aims to plant and rehabilitate 145,000 hectares of forest by 2032. In the first two years since its launch, over 16,000 hectares of forest have already been planted, and by the end of this year, the total area will reach 20,000 hectares of new forest.
Citizens willing to participate in the planting activities can visit the Moldsilva Agency's website, where the Participate in Planting - Autumn 2025 section provides details on available locations and contact persons in each district.
