VIDEO // Speaker participated in national reforestation campaign

Speaker Igor Grosu participated today in the national reforestation campaign Autumn 2025. The official planted saplings at Plaiul Fagului Natural Reserve.

The Speaker participated in the event alongside his wife and colleagues from the Parliament.


"We planted so that, in years to come, we can enjoy a greener country, with forests and clean air. We invite all citizens to join in the seedling planting activity. Since the launch of the greening program, over 16,000 hectares have been reforested, and by 2032 we have the ambitious plan to plant and rehabilitate 145,000 hectares. We can do it if we unite our efforts. Together, we can achieve anything!" emphasized Grosu.


Autumn 2025 reforestation campaign is part of the National Program for Forest Expansion and Rehabilitation #GenerationForest, initiated by President Maia Sandu.

In the first two years of the launch of the National Program for Forest Expansion and Rehabilitation, over 15,000 hectares of forest have been planted, with an investment exceeding 300 million lei. A significant step in expanding this effort is the historic financing agreement signed in 2024 between the Ministry of Environment and the European Investment Bank, worth 200 million euros. This funding will allow for the planting of an additional 63,000 hectares of forest and the development of necessary infrastructure to ensure the long-term sustainability of this ambitious program.

This year's campaign will consolidate the progress made in previous years and will continue the strategic objective of the Republic of Moldova to have a sustainable, ecologically and economically balanced forest fund, while also contributing to achieving the climate and sustainable development targets committed at the national and international levels.
