Yellow Code of ice, black ice: weather alert for more regions of Moldova
The State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) has issued a Yellow Code weather warning for ice and black ice, in the context of unfriendly weather conditions forecast for the days to come. The warning is valid from February 4, 19:00 p.m. until February 6, 20:00.
According to meteorologists, air temperatures will remain around 0°C, and precipitation, predominantly in the form of rain, will favor the formation of ice and black ice, creating difficult travel conditions.
“During February 4–5, the phenomenon will mainly affect the northern half of the Moldova, and on February 6 the ice and black ice will extend across the entire territory of the country,” the SHS noted.
The authorities recommend that citizens exercise increased caution, especially in traffic and adjust their movements to the present weather conditions.
