
Over two thousand people participated in Chisinau International Marathon
Chisinau, 18 October /MOLDPRES/- About two thousand people took part in the Chisinau International Marathon, held on Sunday.
According to the organizers, the seventh edition of the Chisinau International Marathon was attended by people from 26 countries, who ran over four distances: Marathon (42 km 194 m), Half-marathon (21 km 0975 m), 10 km Race , 5 km Race.
The winner of the competition became Ivan Siuris, who covered the 42 kilometers in 2 hours and 23 minutes. The runner is active in the Fulger Special Purpose Police Brigade.
The competition for children, Run Kids Day was attended by 300 young people, aged between 5 and 13 years.
The first international marathon in Chisinau took place on April 26, 2015 and gathered 10,000 participants. The second competition, held on April 17, 2016, was attended by 15,000 people.
The organizers explained that the low number of participants in the athletic competition was due to the coronavirus pandemic.
