
Embassy of Canada to support local initiatives in Moldova
Chisinau, April 19 / MOLDPRES /- The Embassy of Canada in the Republic of Moldova has announced a call for project proposals under the Canadian Fund for Local Initiatives program. The application deadline is 26 April.
The program aims to support small-scale but high-impact projects in developing countries that align with Global Affairs Canada's priority thematic areas of involvement. The program is targeted at local projects, which are selected and approved by the Canadian Embassy or High Commission.
The Canadian Local Initiatives Fund program also serves to support positive bilateral relations between Canada and the beneficiary countries and their civil societies, by deepening contacts and supporting local efforts.
The value of the grants varies between 20 - 50 thousand US dollars.
The following will be eligible for the program: local non-governmental, community and non-profit organizations; local academic institutions working on local projects; intergovernmental, multilateral and regional institutions, organizations and agencies working in local development activities; municipal, regional or national governmental institutions or agencies of the beneficiary country working on local projects, etc.
The program may cover accounting costs; administrative and general costs related to the project (overheads must not exceed 15% of the total contribution obtained under the program); capital and / or operating expenses related to the rental and / or purchase and / or construction of infrastructure; civic education costs, etc.
