Network of public transport from western Moldova district to be modernized
Chisinau, 15 July /MOLDPRES/ - More than 60,000 people from the western Ungheni district who daily use the urban and inter-urban public transport will enjoy better and safer conditions for movement. The programme, My Community, - a project of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Moldova in the local governance field, has made statements to this effect.
According to the quoted source, about 150 modern stops, endowed with intelligent systems of informing passengers about the waiting time and public transport routes, are being set and arranged in nine settlements of the Ungheni district. ‘’Also a mobile application will be created, which will help citizens watch in real time when the transport means arrives,’’ the project said.
The initiative is part of the project, Inter-community cooperation for better conditions in public transport in communities of the Ungheni district, implemented by the My Community programme.
The project is carried out in partnership with the Ungheni city hall and eight neighbour settlements, with the financial support of USAID and the district council.
