Chisinau, 3 September /MOLDPRES/- Academician Mihai Cimpoi, literary critic and historian, eminescologist, philosopher of culture, university professor, winner of the State Prize of the Republic of Moldova turned 79 today.
Cimpoi was awarded the title of Master of Literature (1992), the State Prize (1994), the Order of the Republic (1996), the jubilee medal Mihai Eminescu (Romania, 2000), the National Order "Steaua României", in rank of Commander (2014), with the "Order of Faithful Service" in the rank of Knight of Romania, etc. He is an Honorary Doctor of the Universities of Tiraspol, Balti and Chisinau (Republic of Moldova), Oradea, Alba Iulia (Romania), Emeritus of the Republic of Moldova (2013).In 2012, he was awarded the title of Honorary Citizen of Chisinau.
