Moldovan parliament speaker received at Elisabeta Palace: Royal Family of Romania steps up diplomatic support for Moldova’s EU accession
The Romanian Royal Family is stepping up its diplomatic support for Moldova’s process of accession to the European Union. A message to this effect has been conveyed at a visit by Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu to Elisabeta Palace in Bucharest.
Speaker Igor Grosu was received at Elisabeta Palace by Her Majesty the Custodian of the Crown. The Romanian Royal Family announced that, during the meeting, the sides had considered how the Romanian Crown contributes, both domestically and internationally, to Moldova’s EU accession process.
“The discussions focused on ways in which, throughout 2026, Her Majesty and Prince Radu will support, in the country, in Moldova and in European capitals, Moldova’s European path in such fields as economic development, education, the environment, science and the arts,” the Royal Family underlined.
The meeting was also attended by Ambassador of Moldova to Bucharest Mihai Mitu, lawyer Dr. Ioan Luca Vlad, member of the Royal Council, and Traian Sârcă, Chancellor of His Majesty’s Household.
