
Agricultural producers to benefit from grants for soil conservation equipment
Chisinau, Oct. 6 /MOLDPRES/- The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry in partnership with the Moldovan Agricultural Competitiveness Project (MAC-P) and the Agency for Intervention and Payments in Agriculture AIPA have announced the opening of the first call for funding under the post-investment grants program for sustainable land management. Applications can be submitted by 1 November.
The grants are meant for compensating the expenses for the procurement of agricultural equipment and machinery and the application of measures that ensure the conservation and improvement of soils.
Individual agricultural producers are invited to participate, who are registered in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Moldova, are active in the agricultural sector, have made eligible investments and will present proof of co-financing from their own sources.
The grants will compensate up to 30% of the eligible investment, with a maximum ceiling set at ten thousand dollars per beneficiary and will be granted through the Agency for Intervention and Payments in Agriculture, according to the organizers.
Equipment eligible for financing includes: seed drills, choppers, sprinklers, No-Till harvesters, strip-till combines (Strip-Till technologies), irrigation equipment and systems. At the same time, funding will be granted for the implementation of agrotechnical, phytoremedial and hydrotechnical measures that lead to soil improvement. A beneficiary will be eligible for only one post-investment grant.
