Chisinau-Bucharest train to resume work on 1 November

Chisinau, 27 September /MOLDPRES/- Chisinau-Bucharest train route will resume work on November 1, after a break of over 20 months. Train traffic stopped in March 2020.
The train is scheduled to start running on November 1. Thus, the restoration of the railway communication through the crossing of the Iași-Ungheni border will make possible the connection of the capitals of the Republic of Moldova and Romania with a direct route, as well as of the exchange routes through Iași-Ungheni with all directions of Romania and Moldova.
The railway management also announces the possibility of opening a train route Iasi-Chisinau-Odessa. The topic will be discussed today in Iasi, during an event dedicated to the World Tourism Day - RM-RO-AU Economic Mission "Tourism - a bridge for European Economic Integration". The event will be attended by the Association of Employers of the Tourism Industry of the Republic of Moldova, the management of the Moldovan Railway and the Institute for Development and Expertise of Projects of the Republic of Moldova.
The event is held under the high patronage of mayor of Iasi Mihai Chirica. The purpose of this event is to bring together key actors (private and public), working together to create conditions designed to ensure a favorable climate for the relaunch of tourism, especially regional tourism. The event will be attended by over 100 people in the field of tourism and related fields (public administrations, representatives of organizations, tourism operators and wineries, representatives of consulting companies) from the Republic of Moldova, Romania and Ukraine (Odessa Region).
