Deputy PM, deputy chief of mission at U.S. Embassy discuss strengthening Moldovan-American partnership, cooperation in economic development
The strengthening of the Moldovan-American partnership and cooperation in the economic development field have been the main topics of discussion between Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Eugen Osmochescu and Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Moldova Nick Pietrowicz.
Eugen Osmochescu said that, during the meeting, he had emphasized the importance of facilitating bilateral trade, eliminating tariff barriers, expanding access for Moldovan products on the U.S. market, increasing American investments in strategic sectors, as well as opportunities for cooperation in digital transformation.
Nick Pietrowicz reaffirmed the firm support of the United States for the reforms, modernization, security and European course of Moldova, the official said.
According to statistics data, the volume of Moldova’s foreign trade with the USA in 2023 recorded values of 184.54 million dollars. Exports to the USA registered values of 61.63 million, while imports amounted to 122.91 million dollars.
