First free of charge agro-meteo platform launched in Moldova
Chisinau, 15 December /MOLDPRES/ - The first advanced platform of meteorology in agriculture has been recently launched in Moldova. The platform will be accessible for all small- and medium-sized farmers from the country.
The Agrobiznes Meteo platform, available on the website www.meteo.agrobiznes.md, will provide to agricultural producers accurate data on the temperature and humidity of the air and soil, weather forecasts, information about the risk of development of diseases and pests.
„ The Agrobiznes Meteo platform is an opportunity for the small- and medium-sized farmers, who are not able to set their meteorological stations at the enterprise. The farmers will know what happens in the area where their farmlands are placed, when necessary, to intervene with a certain work or to carry out treatments for agricultural crops,’’ a press release of the project reads.
An essential advantage of the platform is that the data could be verified whenever necessary, no matter the place where the farmer is.
„Taking into account the climate changes and the impact of the groundless use of pesticides, the carrying out of treatments and works at the optimum moment becomes primordial. Producers will have free of charge access to some important and accurate data, generated by meteorological stations, due to the sensors with which the latter are endowed, no matter the place where they are, being able to monitor what is happening on field 24 hours. We believe that the result of this project will exceed the initial estimations, as we everybody want a sustainable and advantageous agriculture,’’ the founder of Agrobiznes, Sergiu Jaman, said.
The data collected from sensors will be delivered to the platform continuously, so that the farmers always know the information on the evolution of the weather.
