Goods exports increased by 10 percent in February compared to first month of year
Goods exports amounted to 269.1 million dollars in February 2025, 10.6% more compared to the current January and 17.7% less compared to February 2024, according to data of the National Statistics Bureau (BNS).
In January-February 2025, a share of 62.5 percent of total goods exports were destined for European Union countries. Their value amounted to 320 million dollars. On the other hand, goods exports to CIS countries had a value of 30 million dollars, which is equivalent to a 5.9% share.
The main countries where Moldovan goods were shipped were Romania, Turkey, Italy, Ukraine, the Czech Republic and Germany, which accounted for 71.3% of total exports.
Domestic goods exports in January-February 2025 amounted to 402.5 million US dollars (78.5% of total exports).
Moldova mostly exports oil seeds and fruits, machinery and electrical appliances, vegetables and fruits, clothing and accessories, cereals and cereal-based preparations, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, furniture.
In the same time period, goods imports totaled 1595.6 million dollars, 16 percent more than in the same period of 2024.
