Moldova signed Convention on European Civil Aviation Conference Bureau
The Republic of Moldova was among the first ten countries to sign the International Convention on European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC) Bureau during the 74th special meeting of the Directors General of Civil Aviation from member states, held on August 28–30, 2025, in Bern, Switzerland.
The event took place under the aegis of the Swiss Federal Office of Civil Aviation (FOCA) and brought together the leaders of civil aviation authorities from the 44 ECAC member states. The Republic of Moldova was represented by Evghenii Kostețki, Deputy Director of the Civil Aeronautical Authority (CAA).
By signing the convention, the Republic of Moldova reaffirmed its commitment to the fundamental values of European civil aviation: safety, security, sustainability, and interoperability. The document strengthens cooperation among member states and supports the implementation of a common framework of best practices in aviation, according to CAA.
The meeting's agenda included topics of strategic importance, including the presentation of candidates' visions for the presidency of the ICAO Council, the progress of the common evaluation process of security equipment (CEP), cooperation with regional civil aviation organizations, as well as prospects for the development of air traffic and aeronautical safety.
The participation of the Republic of Moldova in this meeting strengthened regional dialogue and reaffirmed the country's position as an active partner in European civil aviation. Additionally, the CAA announced its intention to host the ECAC Directors General meeting in 2026, confirming its openness and constructive role in processes of international cooperation.
