
Moldova tops this year's world sparkling wine competition
Chisinau, Dec. 6 /MOLDPRES/- Moldovan sparkling wines have once again conquered the international market. Thus, at the prestigious Effervescents du Monde 2024 competition, wineries from our country won 27 medals - 17 gold medals and 10 silver medals.
Among them, an effervescent wine ranked in the Top 10 of the most appreciated sparkling wines in the world, repeatedly emphasizing the excellence of our country in the art of winemaking.
The data of the National Vine and Wine Office show that in the first seven months of the year, Moldovan wine exports increased by 17% in volume (82.8 million liters) and 22% in value ($ 128.7 million). The main destination countries for Moldovan wine last year were Belarus, Georgia, Romania, the Czech Republic and Poland. Moldova also delivered almost 300 thousand decaliters of sparkling wine. The largest quantities went to Romania, the United States, Germany, Turkey, Belarus.
