Moldovagaz announces Tiraspoltransgaz returned 3 million cubic meters of previously borrowed natural gas
Moldovagaz announced today that on February 26-28, Tiraspoltransgaz returned to the company 3 million cubic meters of natural gas, in accordance with the contractual loan conditions.
In late January, Chișinău decided to offer a loan of 3 million cubic meters of natural gas for the left bank of the Dniester, necessary to maintain critical pressure in the region's pipelines. The gas was to be returned by March 1 or paid for by Tiraspoltransgaz.
Starting January 1, 2025, the Russian company Gazprom suspended the delivery of natural gas to Moldovagaz, despite a valid contract until 2026, leaving consumers in the Transnistrian region without natural gas and consequently without heat and hot water.
Currently, gas in the Transnistrian region is supplied by a European trader.
