Moldovagaz group enterprises to optimize consumption of energy resources

Chisinau, Dec 30 /MOLDPRES/- The consumption of energy resources by Moldovagaz group enterprises will be optimized, and critical natural gas infrastructure objects will be equipped with alternative sources of electricity, primarily generators. The decision was announced today by the company and was taken in the context of the state of emergency.

The subject was discussed at a working meeting of the management of Moldovagaz, representatives of the gas transportation company, gas distribution and other companies of the group. The participants of the meeting also discussed the organization of the activity of the Moldovagaz group's enterprises to ensure uninterrupted gas supply to consumers under the state of emergency, as well as the interaction of the gas enterprises with the central and local authorities in order to implement the provisions of the legislation and the instruction of the Commission for Emergency Situations.

"It is a very difficult situation, but we will cope. Please consider this task as a priority," Vadim Ceban, acting chairman of Moldovagaz management board, told the meeting.

As of 16 December, a 60-day state of emergency was declared throughout Moldova in connection with potential risks of energy shortages.
