Digital solutions for schools of Moldova: 140 institutions equipped with 700 interactive boards, computers

A total of 140 schools of Moldova have been equipped with 700 interactive boards and computers, the equivalent of five modern digital classrooms in each institution.

The equipment was provided under the programme, Digital Innovations of the Educational System of Moldova.

The initiative was implemented by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) during 2022–2026, in partnership with the Education and Research Ministry, with financial support from the Global Partnership for Education. The investments supported the digital and inclusive transformation of education, so that each child has access to learning opportunities that are more relevant, more modern and better connected to today’s world.

According to UNICEF, these investments mean more interactive lessons, better-supported teachers and children who can learn in an environment that is more engaging, more inclusive and better aligned with their needs. For every child, digital education means more opportunities to participate, to learn and to reach their potential.

Around 1,200 schools operate in Moldova, most of them lower secondary schools. In recent years, the authorities have carried out more initiatives to modernize and endow educational institutions of the country.
