
National Bank of Moldova gives explanations on time, way of deposits' transfer
Chisinau, 9 October /MOLDPRES/- The National Bank of Moldova (BNM) today informed about the schedule of the transfer of deposits of private people and legal entities from the Savings Bank (Banca de Economii), Banca Sociala (Social Bank) and Unibank to other banks. The transfer of deposits is part of the actions on preparation for the withdrawal of licenses of the robbed banks.
Thus, today till 21:00, the supply of time and demand deposit accounts of private persons and legal entities, as well as operations with banking cards issued by the aforementioned banks will be ceased.
Starting from 10 October, 13:00, all operations in the time and demand deposit accounts are stopped. On 12 October, after the lists are prepared, all customers of the three banks will be informed about transfers of deposit accounts to other licensed banks from Moldova. Information will be made via territorial subdivisions and media.
The customers of the three banks will have access to deposits transferred to other banks, that will take over the money in the initial contractual terms, starting from 19 October.
At the same time, beginning with 10 October, the three banks "will cease all operations of exchange offices, except for those placed at the border checkpoints."
The decision on liquidation of the banks under special administration is scheduled to be taken till 16 October 2015.
