Priority projects in Moldova's infrastructure can be visualized online on interactive map
Chisinau, 19 October /MOLDPRES/ - Over 90 investment projects on reconstruction of infrastructure from Moldova, included in five strategic priorities, can be visualized on an interactive map of the Plan on Reconstruction of Infrastructure from Moldova, worked out by the Infrastructure and Regional Development Ministry (MIDR).
According to Infrastructure and Regional Development Minister Andrei Spinu, those five strategic priorities of Moldova’s reconstruction regard the road infrastructure, railway and port infrastructure, infrastructure of the water and sewerage supply networks, regional and rural development, as well as the modernization of the inter-urban transport. Spinu noted that the overall estimated value of the projects on Moldova’s reconstruction was of about 15 billion euros.
The interactive map, developed with the support of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), through the Institutional and Structural Reforms in Moldova programme, was unveiled by Moldova’s government to international partners at the fourth issue of the Moldova Support Platform, recently held in Chisinau. „The map https://msp.gov.md represents an online platform, where one can visualize the details on the priority projects on the reconstruction of roads, railways, bridges, water and sewerage networks, modernization of the interurban transport, as well as of the state airport and port infrastructure, etc. This platform, available in the Romanian and English languages, and accessible to all people interested, serves as an important instrument of visualizing infrastructure projects in the identification and attraction of funds for projects on the reconstruction of Moldova’s infrastructure,’’ USAID said.
The carrying out of the plan on reconstruction of Moldova’s infrastructure has established two benchmarks – 2030 and 2050 and the implementation of these projects will help Moldova connect to the European Union and boost the country’s economic development; they will also have an impact on Ukraine, due to the improvement of the transport network as part of the solidarity corridors between Ukraine and Moldova.
