State Fiscal Service of Moldova to have extended powers

Chisinau, 3 July /MOLDPRES/ - The State Fiscal Service (SFS) will have powers of preventing and combating economic offences through providing of competences of carrying out the criminal prosecution and special investigation activity. The cabinet of ministers today approved a draft law which sees extension of the powers of this institution.  

Under the draft, to exercise these powers, specialized subdivisions are to be set up at the State Fiscal Service.  

In this respect, the providing of these special powers to the SFS will ensure: enhancement of the state’s capacity of reaction to the illegal actions, which hinder the development of a stable business climate; removing the factors of unfair competition for the economic agents which observe the legal framework; diminishing of the shadow economy; optimization of the actions undertaken, in order to counteract the fiscal evasion phenomenon and other economic offences; not allowing cases of harming the national public budget and increasing the collections to the national public budget.   

To enter into force, the draft is to be considered an adopted in parliament.
