VIDEO // Chisinau Airport announces commencement of aircrafts' fueling with Jet A1 as of November 20, 2025
The State Enterprise, Eugen Doga-Chisinau International Airport informs that, starting from November 20, 2025, the service for fueling aircrafts with Jet A1-type fuel will be available. The airport is prepared to ensure this activity technically, with specialized personnel and adequate capacity.
"The fuel supplied comes from European sources and service fees have already been established in accordance with international practices. Presently, the airport is finalizing contracts with airlines, in order to ensure regular supply. In the meantime, Lukoil Moldova will continue to fuel aircrafts with Jet A1 till the current stock is exhausted, estimated at approximately two days, observing the already the commitments already assumed to airline operators," the Airport noted.
The airport emphasizes its commitment to ensuring a smooth transition and operational continuity for all airlines operating at the airport, maintaining high standards of safety and reliability in fuel supply.
"This measure represents an important step in strengthening the airport's autonomy and guaranteeing a stable and safe aircrafts’ fueling service, in accordance with international aviation market requirements," the source also said.
The Civil Aviation Authority on November 14 authorized the State Enterprise Chisinau International Airport (AIC) to provide ground-based kerosene fueling services.
The decision comes after the United States Department of Treasury has recently announced sanctions against the major Russian oil companies Lukoil and Rosneft, in order to reduce Moscow's capacity to finance its war effort in Ukraine.
