Deputy Prime Minister pays working visit to Brussels

Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov is in Brussels from 26–27 January on a working visit dedicated to the European path of the Republic of Moldova and cooperation with the institutions of the European Union.

During the visit, the official has scheduled meetings with Marta Kos, EU Commissioner for Enlargement; Ilze Juhansone, Secretary-General of the European Commission; Thérèse Blanchet, Secretary-General of the Council of the EU; Marilena Raouna, Deputy Minister for European Affairs of Cyprus; and Ana Gallego, Director-General for Justice and Consumers (DG JUST).

Cristina Gherasimov will also hold discussions with permanent representatives of Ireland, Germany and France to the EU, as well as with members of the working group on enlargement and the countries currently negotiating accession to the European Union.

The purpose of the visit is to strengthen political and technical dialogue with European institutions and to continue the reforms needed to bring the Republic of Moldova closer to the EU.
