VIDEO // Tenth meeting of Moldova–EU Association Council held in Brussels

The tenth meeting of the Republic of Moldova–European Union Association Council is taking place today in Brussels, where officials from Chisinau and EU representatives will assess developments over the past year and set priorities for the next period, Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov announced.

The delegation of the Republic of Moldova will be led by Prime Minister Vasil Tofan, while the European Union delegation will be led by Kaja Kallas, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.

According to Cristina Gherasimov, the meeting will review the last 12 months of cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union. Officials will also discuss reforms implemented in areas such as security, justice, the economy and energy.

The meeting’s agenda will also include the main issues related to the Republic of Moldova’s European path.

“These meetings are particularly important for our country because they help us assess the progress made over the past twelve months, as well as establish the priorities that will guide the Government’s work over the coming year,” Cristina Gherasimov said.

The Association Council is an annual format for high-level dialogue between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union, established under the Association Agreement signed in 2014.
