Almost 14,000 residents of Transnistrian region officially employed on right bank of Dniester
Data provided by the State Tax Service shows that 13,810 people domiciled in the Transnistrian region in 2025 were officially registered as employees on the right bank of the Dniester, of whom 57.6 per cent were men (7,950 people) and 42.4 per cent women (5,860 people).
The geographical distribution shows a major concentration in the municipality of Chisinau, where more than 80 per cent of all employees work, most of them coming from the cities of Tiraspol, Bender, Slobozia and other nearby localities (over 54 per cent).
Integration into the public social insurance system is strong: 93.85 per cent of employees work on the basis of individual employment contracts, which confirms the legality and stability of their employment relationships.
With regard to professional preferences, the main areas of activity that have attracted workers from the region are: retail trade, the transport sector, general secondary education, construction works, manufacture of various products, as well as medical and pharmaceutical assistance and other related activities.
This data confirms an advanced integration of residents from the Transnistrian region into the labor market on the right bank, demonstrating a functional and stable process of economic and social cohesion.
Citizens from the left bank of the Dniester and the municipality of Bender benefit from employment relations under conditions of safety and legality, the right to all categories of leave, competitive salaries that provide them with a decent standard of living, and so on.
At the same time, through their active participation in key sectors, such as industry, education and trade, residents of the Transnistrian region contribute directly and significantly to the social and economic development of Moldova.
