Government launches Fund for supporting digital innovations and tech startups
Government will financially support the development of digital innovations and tech startups within Moldova IT Park. Creating a Fund for this purpose was approved at the cabinet meeting.
The new Fund will allow Moldova IT Park residents to invest in strategic areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, gov-tech, biotech, agri-tech, cloud or robotics.
The Fund will be managed by Moldova IT Park Administration, and the selection and monitoring of projects will be carried out by a Coordination Committee, ensuring a transparent and efficient process. The financing of the digital innovations support fund will primarily come from external sources.
Moreover, the project approved by the Government includes several changes that will modernize the activity of Moldova IT Park. This involves setting clearer administrative mechanisms, rules to prevent decision-making blockages, updating the Park Council's duties, digitization of the registration process and adjusting the financial regime.
In this way, Moldova IT Park aims to strengthen its role as a driver of IT industry development in our country by supporting entrepreneurial initiatives, attracting talent, internationalizing startups and mobilizing investments, including from diaspora.
Moldova IT Park has over 2,300 residents from 42 countries, and the companies' turnover exceeded 15 billion lei in 2024, with about 90% of sales being made in external markets. The number of employees in enterprises is over 24,000 people.
