PHOTO // Cyprus' Minister of European Affairs discovers Moldovan traditions, culture, gastronomy

Minister of European Affairs of Cyprus Marilena Raouna, on a visit to Moldova, has visited two settlements from the central Straseni district. In Sireti, the Cypriot minister went to kindergarten No. 2, attended daily by about 200 children, which was renovated with European funds, and also to the fire station and the Youth Center from the locality, projects also realized with EU’s support.

In the Vorniceni settlement, Marilena Raouna, along with Deputy Prime Minister Cristina Gherasimov, visited the tourist complex, Vatra Dumeniului, and a family business developed with European funds.

“Moldova has many friends, one of them being Cyprus. The visit to Straseni was a good opportunity for Minister Raouna to discover Moldovan traditions, culture, and gastronomy. Values bring us closer; friendship unites us!” said Cristina Gherasimov.

The visit to Moldova by Minister of European Affairs Marilena Raouna takes place in the context that Cyprus will take over the Presidency of the EU Council in the first half of 2026.

Marilena Raouna had meetings with President Maia Sandu, Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov and members of the civil society from Moldova.
