Graduates of higher education and vocational-technical institutions with an arts profile who are employed, according to assignment, in the municipality of Chișinău will receive a one-off allowance of 90,000 or 120,000 lei, depending on the level of the institution they graduated from. So far, this payment was granted only to those assigned to rural areas.

"The Republic of Moldova has talent and cultural potential, and young people who choose this field will be supported to make music, theatre and arts here at home and to promote the Republic of Moldova all over the world, feeling the support of the ministry more and more," Minister of Culture Cristian Jardan said.

The Government today expanded the list of persons who can receive the allowance by amending the Regulation on the method of calculation, distribution, use and accounting of special-purpose transfers for supporting young specialists in the field of culture.

By supplementing the current provisions, those who will be employed in institutions founded by the Ministry of Culture will also be eligible for the allowance. These include theatrical and concert institutions and museums in the capital, in addition to the village Culture Houses and libraries previously covered.

The aim is to increase the degree of professional integration of graduates of arts education institutions, to enhance the attractiveness of the public cultural sector and to strengthen the network of public cultural institutions with young and qualified staff.

Starting from 1 July 2024, young librarians, museum specialists or artists who are employed, in the first year after graduation, according to assignment receive a one-off allowance.
