Moldovan president pays working visit to northern Floresti district
Chisinau, 9 June /MOLDPRES/ - The working visits to the territory by President Maia Sandu today continued in the northern Floresti district. The head of state discussed with mayors, local and district civil servants, education and healthcare employees, entrepreneurs and farmers, as well as ordinary employees and citizens, the presidential press service has reported.
„The problems of the Floresti district are similar to the ones from other regions of the country. Entrepreneurs want to have access to cheap financing for business and not be harassed by the Fiscal Service. Farmers are discontented with the increase in prices for diesel and the passivity of the public agencies, which must cease the cartel agreements. Physicians are tired and insufficient; there are no young specialists in the district. People want a state which should work for the citizeni, want jobs, good incomes and confidence in future in their settlements,’’ Maia Sandu said.
The head of state noted that the people with whom she had spoken in Floresti understood that we need a deep change in justice and in the political system. ‘’In this way, we will ensure the fair distribution of development funds, as well as will be able to access also external funds for programmes on development of communities and of financing small businesses. In several months, the situation can be changed in the country. Moldova has a chance, if it takes care of its citizens,’’ the Moldovan president stressed.
After the meetings in the Floresti town, the head of state went to the Domulgeni settlement, where she discussed with village residents and the mayor. According to them, the village would like to have a community centre, where a band of dances for children and a musical ensemble from the settlement can work. ‘’The people from Domulgeni are hospitable and wise; they care for their settlement and want in continuation to remain at home. They need support to open new businesses with jobs, in order to access local development projects and to develop the tourism potential of the community. Our duty is to back them,’’ Maia Sandu added.
