Moldovan president has meeting with representatives of Farmers' Force
President Maia Sandu today had a meeting with representatives of Farmers’ Force, during which more problems faced by farmers were discussed.
The topics addressed included the impact of rising fuel prices and other inputs, as well as the need to develop a strategy for adapting agriculture to climate change. Farmers requested increased support for agriculture and improvements to the mechanisms for allocating this support.
The Moldovan president praised the efforts made by agricultural producers in difficult climatic conditions and amid the energy crises of recent years, and emphasized the need to identify sustainable solutions for developing the agricultural sector and enhancing the competitiveness of domestic products. The sides agreed to continue the dialogue, in order to identify concrete support measures and to strengthen the resilience of agriculture.
