Moldovan president visited two localities in Leova district

Chisinau, Dec. 22 / MOLDPRES /- On Tuesday, President Maia Sandu visited two localities in Leova district - Borogani and Tomai, the presidential press service has reported.

The head of state discussed with citizens and representatives of the local authorities about the problems of the communities, as well as the changes started in the country. She explained to those present at the meeting what the government has managed to do so far and what it intends to do in the near future - justice reform, improving the business environment and attracting investment to secure more jobs and increase citizens' incomes, projects infrastructure of national and local importance.

"The relaunch of the economy and the fight against corruption will allow us to obtain more resources for education and the medical system, for a better social protection of vulnerable categories. In order to succeed, we still need the support and involvement of the citizens", Maia Sandu said.

As one of the priorities of the moment is the fight against the pandemic, the head of state encouraged the people of Borogani and Tomai to get vaccinated, stating that this is the best proof of solidarity and care for the people around us.

In Tomai, Maia Sandu also met with pupils of the Mihai Viteazul High School. They talked about the school, environmental issues and their plans for the future, about the challenges that await them and the opportunities that they should not miss. The head of state urged them to be curious, persevering and to work honestly for results.

The visit ended at the Făguraș Kindergarten from Tomai village. Maia Sandu talked to the little ones about Santa Claus, the delaying snow, favorite stories, pets and books, as well as the Presidency Christmas Tree. Each child received a storybook as a gift. "It was a meeting that filled me with energy and optimism. I want every child in Moldova to be safe and to enjoy the winter holidays with their loved ones ", said the head of state.
