Speakers of Nordic, Baltic States to visit Chisinau
Chisinau, 6 November /MOLDPRES/- The justice reform is very important and we will support it, but in compliance with the recommendations of the Venice Commission, Parliament Speaker Zinaida Greceanîi said at a today’s meeting with members of the Group for interparliamentary relations with Moldova at the Parliament (Seimas) of Lithuania, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
According to the speaker, it is necessary to comply with the recommendations of international experts in order avoid switching the system under the influence of political forces.
At the same time, the official that early elections are not necessary to anyone, people are tired of elections, they want and expect social and economic reforms.
The guests backed these views and reiterated their support for reforms.
The delegation, led by Vice-President of Seimas of Lithuania Jonas Liesys pays a visit to the Moldovan parliament on November 5-8. It also includes Valerijus Simulik, Chairman of the Group for Interparliamentary Relations with the Republic of Moldova, Chairman of the Human Rights Committee of the Seimas and Gintaras Vaičekauskas, Vice-Chairman of the Committee on European Affairs, member of the Group for Interparliamentary Relations with Moldova.
At the initiative of Lithuania, an official joint visit of speakers of the Nordic and Baltic States (NB8) will be organized in Chisinau on 2- 4 December.
Moldova and Lithuania established diplomatic relations on 8 July 1992.
