Staff of probation services to be increased in Moldova, to ensure electronic monitoring of domestic aggressors
Chisinau, 29 December /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet today approved the supply, with 20 units, of the staff of the National Probation Inspectorate. Thus, decision-makers will ensure the electronic monitoring of all domestic aggressors, which will provide more protection and safety to the domestic violence victims, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
„The increase in the number of employees comes as a result of the annual growth of the number of ordinances on protection, issued by courts, as well as of imposing the compulsoriness of the electronic monitoring of the domestic aggressors, in order to cut the number of domestic violence, correct and reeducate the domestic aggressors,’’ Justice Minister Sergiu Litvinenco said at the cabinet meeting.
The electronic monitoring of the domestic aggressors, against whom certain protection measures were enforced, both in the criminal and in the civil procedure, implies the ensuring of the effective implementation of all ordinances on protection in regime of 24 hours supervision. This action would considerably reduce the repetition of domestic violence acts.
