Moldovan Liberal Democrat candidate for Chisinau mayor position proposes project on Bic river restoration
Chisinau, 4 June /MOLDPRES/ - The Candidate of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) for the position of Chisinau mayor ,Serafim Urechean, today launched a project titled "Bic river - navigable and with leisure area."
Urechean said the project was aimed at "bringing to normal the Bic river by creating a resort area for residents of Chisinau, as well as for guests". The project sees construction of nine waterfalls from Poltava, their width ranging from 30 to 90 meters.
"A recreation park will be built adjacent to the waterfalls to the right and the left sides of the river. The Bic river segment from Chisinau must be navigable", he noted.
Urechean pointed out that 150 million lei was needed to implement the project; money which will be accumulated from resources of the city hall, as well as with the support of residents. The project could be completed within 2-4 years.
The general local elections will take place on 14 June. Serafim Urechean is 65 years old and held the position of Chisinau mayor in 1994-2005.
